  Fading or Disassociating

  hello, i'm new here.. i'm a college student who has been raised in the "truth" for my entire life.

  i was baptized at 10 years old, and looking back now i know i didn't fully grasp everything involved, for one thing i don't even recall ever going to jehovah in a special prayer to dedicate myself to him, but anyway that's the past and my focus is really on the present.

  i'm currently pursuing an associates degree, but i find myself desiring to pursue a bachelors in my chosen field so that i may have a somewhat more secure future.

  Bore da a croeso Saethydd!

  I was not in your place trying to please family but faded and became disassociated. However I was treated as if I was disfellowshipped in any case but hey we do our best according to our needs. Although at the end of my JW career I didn’t go out in service and was attending the KH as an atheist but still playing the role of a member albeit a quiet one. In the end I just could not remain there any longer and stopped going to the meetings as well.

  It was a glorious sensation having no obligations to the Watchtower org and being a free agent.

  You though might do best to outwardly please your parents and get reinstated so; if you can cope with the charade, since they play games you might want to play along as well? (and don't ever think for one moment longer about marrying a JW!)

  I’m certain the most important thing for you, whatever decision you choose, is to make the best of your life, now that you have been able to see through the murky JW veil--- a good education goes along with being able to earn a decent living.

  We only get one life!

  Well here in HQ, we’ve noticed that the governing body is not getting any younger, fatter yes but not younger. Since we are the inheritors of the riches and glory that you generous ones have contributed, as you can see from our appearances on JWTV we’re all self indulgent pompous asses, living high on the hog and we’re having a ball so we want to thank you and remember not to stop contributing...in fact you should be increasing your contributions right now. Remember, Jehovah will not bless the stingy ones Deut 36.27.

  Another thing which has come to our attention is the fact that God seems to have forgotten our request to bring on Armageddon. So it’s tough luck all you suckers who thought you weren’t going to have to die of old age ‘cos now you will. Don’t blame us we are just doing our job which is to fleece the flock. bring in the money run the show.

  This will be difficult for those not blessed by being called for heavenly life but tough titty you’ll just have to get on with it. After all the real hope as we have said all along is in the resurrection (Hey Splainey what does resurrection mean?) And resurrection is a good doctrine I’m told if you don’t go to heaven like the men round here.

  So there it is; just put your money where your faith is, in God’s very own organisation and every thing’s gonna be ok. And keep sending in the cash and you will be blessed. Re 23.17

  recently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.

  it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.

  he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

  The JW governing body are money grabbing pirates and brazen daylight robbers! (Isn't brazen behaviour a disfellowshipping matter?)

  Not content with taking control of all the KH's worldwide which was a silent and dramatic financial coup instantly yielding wealth beyond the dreams of avarice ( say 140,000 congregations x $50,000?)

  Then demanding the congregations pay in perpetuity for the equivalent or more of the former mortgage payments for those same halls to the new owners of them, the org leadership.

  Then they sell their superfine NY city property portfolio and Mill Hill site in London, then make demands to financially support the new contruction sites which should have been funded by the sale of the original ones. Next they ask for enormous new KH development money from the dozy rank and file (who must never question or they will be thrown out of the club) and followed by this announcement that they were actually just collecting money and no new KH's are really going to be built after all.

  Without a doubt what actually characterises the JW movement is not their false claim that they never solicit for funds or pass round a collection plate but the leadership is hell bent on amassing worldly riches on an impressive worldly scale.

  I expect their rationale is that to ride out their court judgements costs they will need to be super rich but truly this has nothing to do with Christianity, it has everything to do with the avid pursuance of wealth as the prime motivator in their religion. And the sheep just nod their tiny heads and sheepishly follow.

  You Have Been Looking Forward to This for a Long TIme - October 2nd 1914

  picture yourself as a member of the brooklyn bethel family on friday morning, october 2, 1914. you are seated at your usual place at the breakfast table, awaiting the arrival of brother c. t. russell.

  suddenly the door to the dining room opens and brother russell appears.

  he pauses for a moment, as is his custom, and greets the bethel family with a cheery “good morning, all.” but then, instead of immediately taking his place at the head of the table, he claps his hands and makes a thrilling announcement: “the gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day!” you can hardly contain your joy—you have been looking forward to this moment for a long time!

  Believer you are deluded and misinformed, the Bible is not inspired and heaven and paradise are simply human dreams to represent a perfect life. They are not real things and can never be.

  It is better to stand with your feet on the ground and realize that since you were born, you will also die.............. and nobody even after 105 billion births has ever escaped this commonplace truth.

  There is no evidence for heaven, and no chance that most of those 105 billion people will magically be brought back to life again. Why on earth should they? It would no longer be a paradise with chronic overpopulation.

  Face the fact that we are mortal.

  The bottom line is that you and all believers are wallowing in childish fantasies to avoid this hard reality.

  Why was corruption of scriptures not prevented?

  many bracketed portions in the scriptures, influence of foreign myths and unscientific teachings … etc show that scriptures have been corrupted.

  even when they are not corrupted, religious teachings have often no effect even on direct disciples (when jesus was teaching, his immediate disciples were thinking about who was going to be first in the organization—something that happened in all religions which led into their infighting and divisions).

  at the same time there are many good people among materialists, why?

  You have been living on planet Watchtower and have had all your foundational facts and values grossly distorted by their "spiritual truths". For example you imagine that God made the Bible whereas the Bible, written by human thinking, is drawn from astrology, pre-literate sagas, pagan folk belief and borrowed stories from foreign courtly writings. The key to its success was in certain texts being sanctified as the inerrant word of God by the Roman Church in the fourth century.

  The Bible evolved, there was no moment when it was pure, it was always a mongrel anthology.

  If on the other hand you were able to get an education and study real things, it would soon become apparent that nothing from a spiritual source has any concrete value whatsoever in the world of science and education.

  Spirits are purely the product of the human imagination. I have evidence for this. . . do you have evidence for spirits?

  Mass JW exodus

  maybe there will be a mass exodus from jws when thinking people read feb 2017 watchtower telling them the governing body stuff up, shouldnt expect correct/ perfect information and basically make up guff as they see fit.....ya reckon?.

  I think we all agree the mass exodus is postponed for the moment but;

  I thought they had recently told the sheep that the FDS are yet to be chosen? Didn’t I see and hear on video one of the cult leaders saying “We like this doctrine!” Or is that now yesterday’s ‘truth’??

  So they now say,

  ”Therefore, it [GB] can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction......Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food ‘Watchtower Feb 2017”

  What a cop out? Well why does anyone bother to listen to them if they have not got anything special to say?

  I imagine the statement they have put out to the effect that they are not inspired of God, is a legal move to be able to deny that they have enormous power over their flock. (They want to minimise their role in harbouring paedophiles and blame it on others).

  Many JWs will also have written to HQ and said Look you lot got it wrong in 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, the generation of 1914 and that “overlapping generations” does not make sense etc. Their response is in Watchtower Feb 2017; they are categorically not inspired. (It was pretty obvious all along).

  The trouble is that the duplicitous JW org say one thing but here’s the point; they expect the sheepy followers to believe something different to what they have said publicly, such as believing that God has still chosen only them . . . and they just follow willy-nilly, never questioning, munching away on the WT rubbish like the lamb-brained creatures they are.

  this is an actual case.

  a jw was recently disfellowshipped heres the reason.

  he was and elder and regular pioneer at the time baprized 40 years he decides to rent a room from a women who rents rooms out to singles ,he moves in and there's another guy there also renting a room he happens to be disfellowshipped .
